SECOND LECTURE | 03.09.2020 | h 18.00
Gareth Doherty
Member of the Havard Graduate School of Design
Gareth Doherty , through a focus on human practice, explores diverse forms of knowledge that constitute the field of landscape architecture. Each of his publications, including Paradoxes of Green, Roberto Burle Marx Lectures, Is Landscape…?, Ecological Urbanism, and New Geographies, which he co-founded, expands the limits and scope of landscape architectural theory and design. Asking how people-centered fieldwork can inform disciplinary innovations, Doherty’s work broadens disciplinary discussions on participatory methods in landscape architecture.
THIRD LECTURE | 07.09.2020 | h 18.00
Mario Súñer
Vice Director of Batlle i Roig Architecture
Mario Súñer is the Senior Associate and Vice Director of the Landscape Department within the Barcelona based Batlle i Roig design firm.
Among the leading architectural offices at international level, Batlle i Roig experienced an integrated and complex approach between architecture and landscape.
Some of their most recent projects are discussing a very wide concept of environment, involving also side effects and impacts of contemporary and contradictory developments.
Program for Llobregat River Recovery in Barcelona with a new system of integrated mobility lines such as the awarded Landscape restoration of Garraf Waste Landfill are remarkable examples of design potentialities in situations and conditions very similar to the ones proposed in the LOL workshop.
