ATELIER 01 – Utopia in the Landscape

Karim Nader

Founder of Karim Nader Studio

Karim Nader is an architect whose work is silent, but never still. Contextually and textually engaged, he practices design fervently and conscientiously, believing that architecture moves through nature as much as nature moves through architecture. 
In 2016, Karim Nader decided to return to independent practice and founded Karim Nader Studio, customizing work “from the landscape to the doorknob”.

ATELIER 02 – Designing Urban Forests

Valerio Morabito

Architect and PhD in Landscape Architecture

Valerio Morabito in architect with a PhD in Landscape architecture, where he explored the relationship between abstract art with forms and images of Landscape. His drawings, design experiences, paintings and didactical experiences have been published in the chinese book “The Exented Representation of Landscape”, written by Shuping Xiang and Francesco Belligerante. He is founder of APs spin off Unirc, a research design center which works to explore a new idea of landscape as attitude and process.

ATELIER 03 – City as a Story

Pedro Campos Costa

Founder of Campos Costa Arquitetos

Atelier Campos Costa Arquitetos, founded in 2007 by the architect Pedro Campos Costa, has been developing a multidisciplinary practice in projects such as the Lisbon Aquarium Extension or the rehabilitation of the Hotel Ozadi in Tavira, or even the riverside and Quarteira Municipal Market . At the same time, it develops projects that range from the design of furniture objects in cardboard and cork, with the creation of the CaCo brand, to curatorial projects, scenography, installations, research and organization of national and international workshops.

Antonella Contin +
UN-Habitat MetroHUB

Antonella Contin Ph.D. Architecture is Assistant Professor in the School of Architecture and Society at the Politecnico di Milano. The Milan team MS[lab] is still exploring the world opened up by Foucault’s heterotopias of illusion, a new world of networked multitudes, new collective associations and individualities, formal and informal, whose urban future is uncertain and multi-dimensional.

MetroHUB is a comprehensive approach for supporting metropolitan areas and systems of cities for sustainable development. It has evolved over several years, based on prior work and in dialogue with experts from different teams within UN-Habitat, but also in communication with many external partners from all over the world and with different backgrounds.The MetroHUB initiative has a central concept of combining planning, governance, finance and socio-environmental components with capacity development and tangible “acupuncture” projects.
